Good Manners: RSVP

This will be short.
If you choose not to respond to the RSVP on an invitation, then by all means do not show up at the event.
If you choose to go, you have a responsibility to respond that you intend to be there.
If you choose not to go, it is common courtesy to let those planning the event know this.
Often the RSVP will say "regrets only" and you will be considered attending if you do not respond to this.
Be nice, people.  Those who go to so much trouble to give you an invitation deserve your common courtesy in return.
